Communitas provides planning, project management, consulting and research services for two main areas of community development:

• Community Economic Development
• Strategic Planning

We provide the information, tools and resources that allow you to make the decisions that are right for your project. Services include:

• reviewing organizational models with the view to developing the most appropriate model for the group
• education and training in group process and management
• securing the necessary financial and technical resources to implement the project
• assistance with an organizational review to improve overall operations
• assistance with issue identification and planning including the preparation of short and long term business plans;

Community Economic Development

Communitas provides the services necessary to assist a group to develop a community-controlled business, including cooperative businesses. Specific projects could involve either worker co-ops (e.g., Multicultural Health Brokers) or multistakeholder cooperatives (e.g., Edfor Cooperative).
 

Strategic Planning

We also provide consulting and research services for strategic planning processes, either on a community-wide basis (e.g., St. Isidore Community Plan) or for a specific group or organization. We help you develop the tools you need in order to act more efficiently and effectively as a community.
